Advanced PLA filament with enhanced properties.
- Improved strength and toughness
- Reduced brittleness
- Better heat resistance
- Smooth surface finish
- Easy to print
PLA (Polylactic Acid) is the most widely used plastic filament for FDM 3D printers.
It is a bioplastic made from renewable resources like cornstarch or sugarcane. As a result, it is biodegradable under industrial conditions and emits a sweet scent during printing.
Key Characteristics
Easy to print: Hardly shrinks, meaning very low risk of warping.
Low melting temperature: Prints easily between 190 °C and 220 °C (374 °F - 428 °F).
No heated bed required: A heated bed is optional (50-60 °C helps with adhesion).
High level of detail: Ideal for sharp lines and smooth surfaces.
Common Uses
Prototypes and concept models.
Detailed figures, display models, and cosplay items.
Educational projects in schools.
Household decor that is not heavily stressed.
Disadvantages
Low heat resistance: Warps at temperatures above 55 °C (131 °F), making it unsuitable for cars or dishwashers.
Brittle: Breaks faster under mechanical stress compared to materials like PETG or ABS.
Moisture-sensitive: Absorbs moisture from the air, which can cause bubbles during printing.
